SRS-600UNI Carbon Fiber – Unidirectional 600 GSM FRP Strengthening System for Structural Concrete
The SRS-600UNI Carbon Fiber System is a high-strength, unidirectional, 600 gsm CFRP fabric engineered for the structural strengthening of concrete, masonry, and timber elements. With exceptional tensile strength, high elastic modulus, and predictable strain behavior, SRS-600UNI is designed for both engineered FRP strengthening projects and contractor-installed applications such as bowed wall stabilization and flexural reinforcement.
SRS-600UNI bonds externally to structural members using SRS-1000 Structural Epoxy Resin, forming a composite system that significantly increases load capacity, flexural performance, shear resistance, and crack control. Approved for use in commercial, industrial, municipal, and residential structural reinforcement projects.

-
Limit crack propagation in concrete or masonry
-
Stabilize surfaces before overlays or repair materials
Foundation & Wall Reinforcement
-
Stabilize bowing or inward-deflecting foundation walls
-
Provide vertical or horizontal reinforcement for load resistance
-
Strengthen retaining walls and basement walls
Column & Pier Strengthening
-
Unidirectional wrapping for column, pier, and pilaster flexural enhancement
-
Use with bidirectional fabric for confinement and shear strengthening
Rehabilitation & Restoration
-
Extend service life of aging or deteriorated concrete structures
-
Strengthen corroded, cracked, or repair-damaged members
-
Reinforce structures for change-of-use or added loading

Specification
The strengthening system shall consist of a high-strength, unidirectional carbon fiber fabric with a nominal areal weight of 600 gsm, installed using a compatible epoxy saturant/adhesive. The installed composite shall meet or exceed the following minimum properties:
-
Tensile Strength: > 550 ksi (3,800 MPa)
-
Tensile Modulus: > 33 Msi (230 GPa)
-
Design Strain: 0.006–0.01 in/in (depending on application)
-
Fiber Orientation: 0° primary load direction
-
Fabric Type: Unidirectional, dry CFRP fabric
The CFRP strengthening product shall be SRS-600UNI Carbon Fiber as manufactured by Structural Reinforcement Solutions, Thornville, Ohio.
Installation Overview
-
Surface Preparation
Clean and grind the surface to sound concrete. Remove coatings, laitance, and weak material. Repair voids or uneven areas using SRS-2100 or SRS-2000 Structural Repair Paste.
-
Primer Application
Apply a uniform coat of SRS-1000 Structural Epoxy Resin to promote proper bonding between the substrate and carbon fiber.
-
Saturant & Fiber Placement
Apply epoxy saturant and position SRS-600UNI in the required orientation, ensuring full wet-out and adhesion. Roll out any trapped air.
-
Additional Epoxy Coat
Apply a final epoxy layer over the fabric to encapsulate fibers and complete the FRP composite.
-
Curing & Protection
Allow the system to cure at recommended temperatures. Protect installed CFRP from moisture, abrasion, and UV exposure until fully cured.
Storage Conditions
To maintain material performance, store all SRS-600UNI components in a dry, indoor environment away from direct sunlight and moisture. Recommended storage temperature is 40–95°F (4–35°C).
-
Carbon Fiber Fabric Shelf Life: Up to 10 years when stored in sealed packaging and protected from UV exposure.
-
Epoxy Resin Shelf Life: Approximately 2 years in unopened containers at recommended temperatures.
-
Do Not Freeze: Freezing may affect resin viscosity and bonding performance.
-
Keep Dry: Prolonged moisture exposure may impact adhesive bonding during installation.
Always refer to the SRS Technical Data Sheet and Safety Data Sheet for detailed handling and safety requirements.
