SRS-4100 Steel Guard – Surface-Applied Steel Corrosion Inhibitor for Exposed & Embedded Steel

SRS-4100 Steel Guard is a high-performance, surface-applied corrosion inhibitor designed to stabilize and protect exposed and embedded steel reinforcement. Engineered for structural, industrial, marine, and infrastructure environments, SRS-4100 penetrates corroded steel surfaces, reacts with active corrosion products, and helps restore a more stable, passive condition for long-term durability.

SRS-4100 reduces corrosion activity in chloride-contaminated or moisture-exposed conditions and is ideal for use prior to concrete repair, CFRP strengthening, and protective coating systems.

Product Details

SRS-4100 is a multi-phase steel corrosion inhibitor formulated to react with both steel surfaces and corrosion byproducts. The treatment penetrates rusted or exposed steel, reduces anodic and cathodic activity, and helps stabilize the steel surface for improved long-term protection. SRS-4100 is used on exposed structural steel, rusted reinforcement, steel exhibiting corrosion leakage, and embedded rebar prior to patch repair.

The solution is particularly effective in environments affected by moisture, chlorides, deicing salts, industrial contaminants, or early-stage corrosion.

When To Use

  • When corrosion is present or suspected.

  • On chloride-contaminated concrete surfaces.

  • On concrete surfaces showing signs of carbonation.

Features & Benefits

Penetrating Corrosion Inhibitor
Reacts with steel surfaces and corrosion byproducts to slow corrosion activity.

Stabilizes Rusted Steel
Helps convert active corrosion into a more passive and uniform surface condition.

Chloride-Resistant Performance
Designed for environments exposed to salt, deicing chemicals, and marine conditions.

Improves Surface for Repairs
Creates a more stable substrate for patch mortars, coatings, and CFRP strengthening.

Non-Film-Forming Chemical Treatment
Does not peel or flake; compatible with repair materials and coatings.

Versatile Use Cases
Apply on exposed structural steel or embedded reinforcement before concrete rehabilitation.

Low Odor & Easy Application
Suitable for occupied buildings, industrial sites, and field repairs.

Expected Performance

  • Reduces corrosion activity on steel

  • Helps stabilize active rust into a more passive surface layer

  • Decreases chloride-induced corrosion rates

  • Creates a more uniform and stable steel surface for repair materials

  • Improves long-term durability of steel in aggressive environments
