Timber Pile Rehabilitation with Carbon Fiber Reinforcement

This project highlights the rehabilitation of deteriorated timber piles supporting a multi-building residential complex constructed on a steep hillside in Portland, OR. Severe rot, cross-sectional loss, and difficult site access created significant structural challenges. Working closely with the contractor, SRS provided a carbon fiber reinforcement solution that restored the load-bearing capacity of the piles while minimizing disruption to the site. Using epoxy grouting, wood preservation treatments, and CFRP wrapping, the repair enhanced long-term durability and structural stability in an efficient, minimally invasive manner.
