Innovative Structural Strengthening at the Historic Aladdin Hotel

A historic hotel in downtown Kansas City required structural strengthening to restore the integrity of aging concrete columns and support increased load demands. This project utilized carbon fiber–reinforced polymer (CFRP) materials to repair deteriorated columns, enhance shear and flexural capacity, and extend the service life of the structure without intrusive demolition. The CFRP solution provided a fast, clean, and minimally disruptive reinforcement method—ideal for an active urban property undergoing renovation.
